In October I decided I was gonna regress to my childhood and had sudden urges to buy on DVD and watch loads of Disney films that I remember from my childhood. As Handcuffs pointed out, I am indeed a kid at heart.
Anyway since then I have bought 9 of them ... which has probably cost me near £100 and considering I'm on a student budget I really should have been spending my money on better things. Like alcohol. These include:
- 101 Dalmatians (real life one)
- 102 Dalmatians
- Lion King
- Bambi
- Dumbo
- Pocahontas
- Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
- Homeward Bound: Lost In San Fransisco
- Fox & the Hound

Automatically I noticed that Bambi getting up and walking(ish) straight after birth is precocial - being relatively mature and able to stand, not needing too much parental care. Next thing was the male deer in the meadow prancing and rutting which is mating behaviour and also social to establish dominance shizzle. To be fair everything was pretty much accurate it was just the fact that my brain kept pointing these things out that was irritating when I just wanted to watch the damn film!!!
However, there was one mistake I noticed (I hate myself right now). Flower the Skunk turns up at the end with his new kit (baby skunk, get me using proper terminology). I know that skunks are polygynous (male mates with lots of females ... maybe I should add a glossary to this) and that the females provide all the parental care and that the father would probably kill his babies. I mean you never know, maybe Flower the Skunk was planning on eating his son after the film had finished but I doubt that. Oh and also I'm pretty sure that a stag, a rabbit and a skunk would not be friends but let's not even get into that!

Sorry if my course has just ruined Disney for everyone else too. At least now you can share my pain.
S'all for now, being bribed into help clean a room with the promise of a Chinese :) Om nom.
