Author's Note

Hopelessly, I'm taking a mental picture of you now, 'cause hopelessly the hope is that we have so much to feel good about.

I wish it could be Christmas everyday

Apart from the fact that Ianto has just done a Christmas wee on my hand. Stupid rat.

Anyway, so just sitting here chilling, singing along to Mr Elton John's Step Into Christmas waiting for my Aunt and Uncle to come round for the standard Christmas Eve exchange of presents and eating of mini cheddars. Tomorrow morning me and my brother will get up early, open our presents from Santa
(who still comes to 21 year olds! I'm so happy!), then the grandparents will come round for presents and lunch and then our day will end at 4pm when my two Great Uncles come round and bore our faces off.

I don't remember Christmas any other way. Christmas and NY 2010 only seem like yesterday. Maybe because nothing changes it seems like the same day on repeat and actually I kinda love it this way. I don't know how I'm going to cope when I get married or move to Australia; things will have to change then!

OMG HAIRSPRAY'S ON IN 15MINUTES! WIN!

Minor distraction. Never realised how properly close I am to my family. When I was young I always wondered why on Earth my parents didn't mind not getting so many presents or that Father Christmas didn't visit them anymore but now I'm quite happy just coming home and enjoying being with my family and of course Mr Jake Dog. Before uni I guess I took home life for granted but now I look forward to it way more than presents .. although they do help :P

This year I'm stepping out and for the first time in 21 years I won't be spending New Years Eve with my parents ... though I'm sure I will phone them and shout some drunken New Year wishes from the JSV :D

But with a new year comes changes so ...
My New Years Resolution for 2012:
Go back to FatBusters (Slimming World) and lose some weight! Then once I'm a size 10 and under 10 stone I will treat myself to a new tattoo on my hip :) Yes I am bribing myself.

I've just realised that 2012 is essentially the year that will shape my life ... depending on what I get in my degree, what job I get, whether I stay in Plymouth or come home ... it's frightening really but I am comforted by the fact that it is 2012 ... 12 being my lucky number so I'm relying on that getting me through!

2011, you're been one hell of a year. It's been a brilliant one actually .. a few pot holes but I wouldn't expect anything else. I have completely turned myself around since this time last year and believe me I never thought I would feel this good :D  Incredible what can change in 365 days.

So finally lots of love to everyone that's been there for me this passed year whether it be a shoulder to cry on; some helpful arms pulling me up when I passed out on my 21st or just willing to laugh at things again and again because lets face it ... some things just never get old :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I hope all your wishes come true :) Love Cock

Driving home for Christmas ...

Obviously not right now. Seeing as texting and driving is illegal I'm pretty sure blogging whilst driving is also frowned upon ... but I will be driving home for Christmas tomorrow and I couldn't be happier about it :)

I love Christmas but I didn't really get much of a Christmas last year what with nearly every part of my life falling apart. But this year it couldn't be more different :D I'm happy, I'm healthy (ish) and enjoying a bowl of noodles because that's basically the only food we have left in the house. And I am eating them like no-ones watching i.e. messily

.. and I have just noticed that Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr are on the Graham Norton Show so I'm going to go drool watch that .. brb.

Ooo beardy Jude Law. Nom.

ANYWAY ... so I haven't really packed. I've got as far as putting clothes that I want to take home on the radiator which is pretty good progress. fortunately though I am only going home for 10days before returnez-vousing to Plymouth for New Year with Mr Jason Mitchell - SO EXCITED :D

I am now off to meet Mr Tom to give him his very exciting Christmas present and to beat the shit out of Dominos who, 3 months down the line, still haven't paid me. WANKERS!

Ahem.

So yeh, off I go. Then tomorrow I'm DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS with the family and J-dog and the Grandparents and it's going to be amazeballs :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Thoughts on stuff

Wow it's been a while Mr Blog Page. So long in fact that I am now a whole year older since I last blogged. Clearly I'm not bored enough at university to find time to blog .. either that or when I'm bored I have a pub to go to and spend my time drinking Rattler or Jaegarbombs or Skittlebombs or my new drink of choice - vodka lemonade and lime. Yum.

Anyway, distracted by alcohol ... isn't that always the way?!
I would firstly like to re.. whatsit.. shit, what's the word? Like reiterate but not ... well whatever, I am re-declaring my love for Maroon 5. What a band. Can't believe they've had a new album out for a whole 6months and I've not noticed, absolutely shocking. Little gem from their new album just to prove my point:

So life.

I've come home for a few days for the family version of my 21st i.e. more Sunday roasts with grandparents and less drunken monkey walk of shames. The only similarity being the eating of a chinese buffet that, come tomorrow evening, will have taken place on both occasions.

Quote my mother:
"You do realise it's quite expensive at the Water Margin?"
"Well you should have thought of that before telling me I could choose anywhere." :P

I was so excited to come home although I hate to say it but all I need is a days catch up and hugs and slobbers (from the dog only), just to see them all and make sure home is still as I left it, aside from a new bathroom and the massive tree in our driveway now being just a stump, then I'm ready to return to Plymouth - I've had my family fix, s'time to get shitfaced again :)

In case you can't tell, I'm enjoying life at the moment. I'm pretty chilled, taking every day as it comes ...

Awesome quote courtesy of Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) in Dodgeball:
"I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. And I gotta tell ya... it feels phenomenal."

This isn't strictly true. I do have goals, mainly to pass my degree with a 2:1 and get a decent, permanent job but I'm still working towards that and don't have to worry about being disappointed if I don't achieve them 'til July next year so I have time to feel 'phenomenal' for the time being.

A nice little metaphor that I have just thought of is this:
I am currently stood on the table cloth that covers the table of awesome and in less than 7months time (end of university) that table cloth will be whipped out from under me, and not in a skillful way that leaves me still standing on the table of awesome but in a shit, clumsy way that will send me flying off onto the floor of life and I'm gonna have to get used to "real life" ... not this weird holiday of life we call "university". And believe me, it's gonna take some adapting to.

See illustration.

Pretty much what is going to happen but HEY don't have to worry about this yet, like I've said - take everyday as it comes. Carpe diem and all that jazz.

...

I'm not sure how I started off all Maroon 5 and birthdays and turned into Mrs. Philosophical.

Blogging juices exhausted. Night.
